Chapter 1 was OK. A time of 50 is pretty average, but a second slower than I would have liked it to be
doesn't matter much in this kind of risky speedrun.
Chapter 2 was sloppy. 5-8 seconds of sloppiness.
Chapter 3 was really ugly. 1'16" isn't really acceptable here.
Most of it was just performed poorly, and I didn't even manage the shortcut at the end of lap 2.
Chapter 4 is probably the worst part of the run, despite not being the most difficult.
The reason for this is because the AI behaviour differs way too much, even when you know how
to manipulate it to some extent. It didn't go particularly well in this run, but that's
sort of acceptable, considered that's it's too dependent on RNG (luck).
Chapter 5 has the least meaning to the run. Especially on Normal difficulty, because there's
really no way to fail it. Even with mistakes it doesn't lose much time as a whole.
The goal time to get is a 36", so 37"1 isn't bad at all.
Chapter 6 is similar to Chapter 5 in that it's more or less the same every time, with
little to worry about. 2'29 is usually what I get. The 2'28-2'27 range would be a good time to get with
the strategy currently being used, which I did, so no complains there.
Chapter 7 is one of the chapter where most time can be saved with the reason of having much
potential due to Shift Boosts. I barely went for any Shift Boosts in this run, though,
so it was really slow as a result of safe-strats. About 5-8 seconds should be saved from applying
more Shift Boosts.
Chapter 8 was pretty good. At that time (three years before writing this review) I would consider it
a pretty clean run, but with how much I've improved now, it really doesn't stand out that much anymore.
A few seconds can be saved with my current play.
Chapter 9 is the most scary part of the run. With the strategy being used, I think this course kind of
speaks for itself. This is the part of the run with the most potential for saving time.
An individual record of Chapter 9 will always be much faster than a run gotten during a speedrun,
just because of the low probability of having a successful run with tons of Shift Boosts in it.
A really good Chapter 9 time to get in a speedrun would end up in the 1'45-1'50 range, I believe. I only got
2'04" in this run, which is not very good.
Overall, this speedrun is very improvable. Especially considering that it's from 2012.
I'm not sure when I'll decide to improve it, but I think the time will come at some point in the future.
When I do return, I think I'll have 19:30 (real-time) as a goal time.
